Tates PC is a software-led IT practice run by Joe Tate from Henderson, Nevada. Below is the short version of how it got here — and how it works today.
Clients stay because the same person who answers the phone also reads the logs, owns the vendor relationships, and remembers which closet still runs the old NAS.
From tinkering to a trade
The interest in computers started young: pulling apart calculators, game systems, and anything else with a circuit board, then trying to put it back together. Some of it worked. Some of it became something else entirely. The curiosity stuck.
By 1999 it had turned into a college focus on programming, and a side hustle building websites. A year into the field, programming gave way to the part of the job that fit better — helping real users get past frustrations and keeping systems running for the people who depended on them.
The retail and business years
A stint at Best Buy for Business introduced consultations and SOHO equipment work to executives and small-business owners. After several years and a clear difference of opinion about what quality service looked like, it was time to build something else.
Tates PC opened in Ohio in 2010 and grew over years in Galion, Bucyrus, and surrounding communities. In 2018 the family moved to Nevada and the work followed. In 2024 the practice was placed under LV PC Fix LLC, doing business as Tates PC — the structure that matches how the business runs today.
2026: deeper bench, same shop
Joe is still the one behind Tates PC. A partnership with a larger IT company brought in the vendor depth behind today’s stack while keeping the same single-technician relationship clients have always had. Offerings include Ai PC Fix with Two Minute Fix and Bitdefender GravityZone, TMF Backup, Tates PC Cloud Protect, Tates PC Immutable Backup & Disaster Recovery, Network Security Penetration Testing, Microsoft 365, and optional IT Helpdesk support — with Microsoft 365 licensing delivered as a U.S.-based Microsoft Partner.
